Position Summary
The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight within Wisconsin and Illinois. This role requires a high level of safety awareness, reliability, and attention to detail while operating a 53-foot dry van trailer. The driver will be working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, ensuring timely deliveries while complying with FMCSA and DOT regulations. Prior experience operating Class A CDL equipment in hauling settings such as freight, industrial, or waste is preferred. Familiarity with DOT regulations, long hours of service (HOS), and vehicle safety protocols is essential.

- Vehicle Operation:
- - Safely operate a 53-foot dry van trailer, ensuring adherence to all FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- - Drive within designated routes throughout Wisconsin and Illinois, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
- - Maintain control of the vehicle at all times, operating the truck in a manner that ensures the safety of the driver, the load, and other road users.
- Pre-trip and Post-trip Inspections:
- - Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections before each shift to ensure vehicle readiness, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- - Perform post-trip inspections to identify any vehicle defects or maintenance needs, reporting any issues to the fleet manager immediately.
- Safety Compliance:
- - Comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations, including hours of service (HOS) rules, vehicle maintenance protocols, and weight limits.
- - Ensure the vehicle is operated in a safe manner, following traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- - Report any accidents, safety violations, or incidents to management immediately.
- Communication and Coordination:
- - Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members regarding route schedules, delays, traffic conditions, and any issues that arise.
- - Provide updates on delivery status, maintaining coordination to ensure timely deliveries and efficient route planning.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Care:
- - Perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure) and notify maintenance personnel of any major mechanical issues.
- - Keep the truck clean and organized, ensuring proper care and upkeep of the vehicle.
- Customer Service:
- - Represent the company professionally during customer interactions, ensuring all deliveries are made in a timely and courteous manner.
- - Address any customer questions or concerns during the delivery process, providing assistance when necessary.

Required Qualifications
-  Valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement and a satisfactory driving record.
-  Working knowledge of DOT safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to work 10-12hour shifts, with occasional weekend availability.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- No alcohol related offenses in the last 5 years
- No at-fault accident in the last 3 years
- No speeding tickets in the last 24 months
- No speeding of 10+ in the last 3 years,

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including loading and unloading freight, in various weather conditions..
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to secure or adjust loads inside the truck and during pickups/deliveries.
- Ability to operate a 53-foot dry van truck safely and efficiently, which may require occasional maneuvering in tight spaces.
- Exposure to outdoor elements (rain, snow, extreme temperatures) while performing tasks such as inspections, loading/unloading, and deliveries.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving, with periodic breaks as required for rest and vehicle inspections.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, requiring attention to detail and the ability to follow safety protocols at all times.

Success in this role is measured by safe, reliable, and compliant hauling operations, as well as professionalism in daily interactions. Key performance expectations include:
- Safety Performance: Operates equipment in full compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific requirements, maintaining a strong safety record with minimal incidents or violations.
- On-Time Service: Completes assigned routes and deliveries efficiently and within scheduled timeframes to support uninterrupted operations.
- Equipment Care: Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly reports maintenance concerns to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintains accurate logs, permits, and documentation in accordance with DOT and environmental regulations.
- Operational Accuracy: Properly loads, transports, and unloads waste materials, ensuring compliance with weight limits, disposal requirements, and landfill procedures.
- Professional Conduct: Represents the company positively through courteous communication and professional interactions with customers, landfill personnel, and internal teams.
- Reliability & Attendance: Demonstrates dependable attendance, punctuality, and readiness to work assigned schedules, including early start times or weekends as required.
- Situational Awareness: Maintains focus and awareness in active work environments involving heavy equipment, traffic, and changing site conditions
