Job Description

Your team

Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing & Safety, you will join a highly experienced team of specialists who work to deliver a safe and positive work environment for all employees.

You will also be part of an engaging and collaborative People Department team, a group of specialists in their own areas of expertise with a similar goal to deliver the best outcomes for the Bank.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced WHS professional to lead the enhancement and implementation of our Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) to align with ISO 45001 and support compliance with Comcare Self-Insurance requirements. A comprehensive gap analysis has been completed, and this role will be responsible for delivering the identified improvement program, embedding sustainable governance and assurance processes, and strengthening the organisation's overall WHS maturity.

This role presents a unique opportunity to lead a significant organisational safety improvement program and create a lasting impact on safety governance and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of actions identified in the ISO 45001 gap analysis.

  • Review, develop and standardise WHS policies, procedures and system documentation.

  • Align the WHSMS with ISO 45001 principles and Comcare Self-Insurance requirements.

  • Establish governance, assurance, audit and management review processes.

  • Coordinate the internal audit and corrective action programs.

  • Engage and influence leaders and stakeholders to embed system improvements.

  • Monitor progress against project milestones and provide reporting to Comcare.

  • A WHS Management System aligned with ISO 45001 principles.

  • Readiness for the initial Comcare Self-Insurance audit.

  • Embedded governance, assurance and continuous improvement processes.

  • Enhanced organisational capability to maintain and continuously improve WHS performance.

About You

You are an experienced WHS practitioner with demonstrated success implementing and improving safety management systems in complex organisations.

We are seeking to speak with candidates who have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline.

  • Significant experience in WHS management systems, governance and compliance.

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and contemporary WHS practices.

  • Experience managing organisational change and improvement programs.

  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

  • Experience working with Comcare or self-insurance frameworks.
