Shifts Available: 1st: (6:45 AM to 3:45 PM) / 2nd: (4:00 PM to 1:00 AM)

Compensation: Starting $26.25/hr

Job Overview

The Wholesale Butcher is an advanced production role responsible for performing complex meat cutting and trimming processes with little to no supervision. Using expert knife skills, you will safely prepare raw product to exact specifications while supporting high product quality, yield, and production efficiency.

What You Will Do

  • Debone, trim, and prepare raw meat products using safe, efficient knife techniques.
  • Apply in‑depth knowledge of specifications to produce accurate standard and specialized cuts.
  • Operate with minimal guidance while meeting production targets in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.
  • Maintain knives and tools by safely sharpening and handling equipment.
  • Perform job duties in a fast-paced, cold, or warm production setting with required PPE while engaging in physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time, climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Minimum of 3 years of meat cutting experience with beef or pork, using advanced knife techniques within the last 5 years.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Prior experience working with specialized knives or industrial cutting equipment.
  • Experience trimming or cutting to customer specific or premium product specifications
  • Knowledge of safe movement, lifting, and knife handling techniques in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with production control processes in a protein manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain consistent quality and yield in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to train or mentor others in safe meat-cutting practices.
