To provide service to YMCA members in the wellness center including proper use of equipment, sound wellness advice, providing a welcoming environment, and ensuring the safety of the area and the members.

What You’ll Do
- Follow YMCA of Greater Brandywine Wellness Center absolutes:
- - Members working out in the Wellness Center will be acknowledged by staff
- - Staff will be identifiable by staff shirt and nametag
- - Staff is trained and knowledgeable o Wellness Center will be staffed 100% during operating hours o Facility and equipment will be clean
- Be available to answer questions, offer advice, and assist members in the proper use of the equipment.
- Conduct Wellness Center Orientations based on branch guidelines and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner
- Work with Health and Wellness Director on member education.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Maintain continuous surveillance during shift.
- Report any mechanical or breakdown problems immediately to the supervisor and document in maintenance logbook and on equipment.
- Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year.
- Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsWhat You'll Need
- Preferred degree (or working towards a degree) in Health & Wellness or related field
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Health & Wellness field
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Possess and maintain a personal training certification from a nationally accredited association.
- pproved organizations/certifications: NSCA (CSCS and CPT), ACSM (HFI, CPT, Exercise Specialist), NASM (CPT), AFAA (V3), ACE (CPT), other personal training certifications may be accepted.
- Previous YMCA experience preferred
- Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
