Welding Trainee – Production Support Technician

Welding Trainees are trained to operate fabrication machinery under close supervision to produce quality metal fabricated parts at the appropriate time in the right quantities in a high-performance team environment using welding equipment to perform basic tack and straight line welds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Welding Trainees perform a variety of welding and production duties while adhering to Caterpillar’s core values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment, and sustainability. Welding Trainees work within and across zones on the production floor in the areas of assembly, fabrication, paint or other production areas, ensuring safety, quality and standard work protocol are followed. Welding Trainees use welding equipment to perform basic tack and straight line after completing welding training.

Basic Requirements:

Must be able to meet the physical requirements including, but not limited to:

• Lifting up to 35 lbs; standing and walking constantly; and frequently kneeling, climbing, and reaching with or without reasonable accommodations
• Prior employment and/or volunteer experience
• Caterpillar requires all candidates to be 18 years of age or older due to safety regulations

Top candidates will also have:

• Previous manufacturing/distribution experience
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experience working with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work Additional Information:

Shift: 1st Shift (within the core Hours: 7a.m. - 3:30 p.m)
Compensation: $16.45 per hour, + quarterly Goal Sharing Bonus
Work location: Victoria, TX

Pay Range:

$16.43 - $21.37

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
