Wood is currently recruiting for a Welding Supervisor to join the team for an immediate start, supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client project in Chonburi, Thailand This role is offered as an initial 12-month contract with the opportunity to continue as an ongoing, longer-term assignment and available for Thai National.

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, your immediate focus will be supporting the supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client. You will bring to life Woods three pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence and Profitable Growth on the project. Leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Wood values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, to ensure safe, reliable operations and client satisfaction.
You will thrive on the challenge of balancing technical, team, client, and project leadership in this key site-based role with your focus on relationships and delivery, enabling you to anticipate project needs beyond the immediate scope. You will drive technical excellence and assurance on the welding portion while working in close partnership with other disciplines and the client, to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and project.
In addition, you will:
- Review Overall QA/QC system set up
- Ensure QC plan and ITPs are in place, reviewed and agreed.
- Review WPS, PQR and Welding performance report
- Witness Welder Test
- Monitor Welder Continuity Log for compliance with standards
- Review fabrication shop and field welding quality
- Review NDE and PWHT activities and records
- Interpret welding query compliance with ASME, & AWS Codes / Specification
- Reviews coatings specifications and procedures
- Review qualifications of operatives and implementation of coatings procedures
- Review qualifications of coatings inspectors and implementation of inspection processes
- Provides construction proposal specifications review
- Audits Field construction projects for compliance to the organization’s Quality System
- Recommends corrective actions for Field deviations
- Proactive in providing support to project team in assigned project work as and when required
- Bachelor or Diploma degree in related filed
- Knowledgeable of all Construction Phase Activities for both small and large projects
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Field Welding QC and Coatings systems
- CSWIP or AWS Certified Welding Inspector, NDE Certifications preferred
- Strong working knowledge of ASME and AWS Codes / Specifications
- Excellent written / verbal communication skills
- Good coordination with all disciplines
