Summary/Objective:

The Welding Robot Operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading parts from automated welding fixtures, operating robotic welding equipment, and performing quality inspections to ensure products meet established specifications and standards. This role monitors production processes, identifies defects, verifies weld quality, and maintains efficient workflow while adhering to safety and quality requirements.

• Load and unload workpieces into robotic welding fixtures and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Start, operate, monitor, and make basic adjustments to robotic welding machines and production lines to maintain production requirements.
• Follow written work instructions, quality standards, and production specifications to ensure product conformance.
• Perform visual inspections of completed weldments and finished parts to identify defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues.
• Test completed workpieces as required to verify weld integrity and compliance with quality requirements.
• Remove defective parts from production and report quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
• Ensure proper positioning and securing of parts in welding fixtures prior to initiating automated welding cycles.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all other responsibilities as may be assigned by management.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Working Conditions:

• Prolonged standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to frequently lift or move objects weighing 50lbs.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to use a computer to access blueprints and CAD Drawings
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and part numbers.

Competencies:

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently.

Supervisory Responsibility:

No supervisory responsibility for this position.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
• Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements associated with grinding, polishing, and finishing operations.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while handling materials and performing job duties.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to handle and maneuver large, heavy, or awkwardly shaped parts and molds.
• Ability to maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination while performing detailed finishing work.
• Ability to visually inspect products for defects, surface irregularities, smoothness, and conformance to quality standards, including close vision and depth perception.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. The position is required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime based on the demand of the business.

Travel:

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

Pay Rate: $17.70 per hour 1st Shift 6:00am-2:30pm

Preferred Education and Experience:

• One (1) or more years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, metal finishing, or production environment.
• Ability to use computer to access blueprints and CAD drawings.
• Must have basic math, reading and writing skills.
