Job Description

Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Welding Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.

The Welding Machine Repair - Electrical candidate will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and operate various complex electronic welding equipment and Robotic welding and Plasma systems. Will discuss technical problems with Design to make suggestions and necessary circuit changes to enhance system operation. Work conditions may include confined spaces, heights/JLG and heavy lifting.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED OR have 2+ years of related technical experience
  • Must have 1-5 years of electrical experience, electrical maintenance experience, military, or manufacturing experience

Preferred:

  • Completion of specialized school in the electronic field beyond high school or 3 years work experience in the electrical field

Skills

  • Must be able to understand the operation and troubleshoot the analog, digital, and logic circuits used in the electronic welding equipment
  • Familiarity with repair of orbital welding equipment e, AMI/Liburdi
  • Familiar with line voltages e, 120 volt, 240 volt and 480 volt systems
  • Must be able to use test equipment multimeters
  • Must have the ability to distinguish between colors for the purpose of performing the job
