Job Description

TKO StaffPros is seeking skilled Welders and Fitters to support the fabrication of structural steel components in a fast‑paced production environment. These roles involve fitting, aligning, and welding steel parts according to blueprints, layout specifications, and approved weld procedures. Candidates must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and layout specifications to determine material requirements and task sequences.
• Position, align, fit, and weld structural steel components using jigs, welding torches, hand tools, and layout equipment.
• Tack‑weld fitted parts and complete welds according to approved weld procedures and quality standards.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses for fit‑up and preparation.
• Verify conformance of workpieces using squares, rulers, measuring tapes, and other precision tools.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, or cutting to ensure proper weld penetration and fusion.
• Use clamps, jacks, hoists, and rigging equipment to position and secure large assemblies safely.
• Follow all company safety regulations, wear full PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with moving steel components using overhead cranes or forklifts.
• Perform basic math, measurement, and layout tasks with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Must pass an onsite weld test.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, SMAW, or FCAW welding processes preferred.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
• Basic math and measurement skills required.

Work Environment

• Fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, and heavy equipment.
• Requires standing, lifting, bending, and moving steel components regularly.
• Strict adherence to PPE and safety guidelines.
