Main Duties:


Develop, review, and maintain welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQs) to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Coordinate daily welding activities and assign work according to welder qualifications.
Oversee weld inspections and manage NDT processes such as MPI, DPI, UT, and radiography.
Maintain accurate welding documentation, traceability records, and welder certifications.
Liaise with production teams, engineers, clients, and third‑party inspectors.
Provide technical support on materials, consumables, welding processes, and troubleshooting issues.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and support risk assessments related to welding operations.
Monitor welding quality and productivity, driving continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements:


Formal welding or engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3+, HNC/HND in Mechanical or Fabrication Engineering.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI/CSWIP 3.0 or 3.1) or equivalent inspection qualification.
Training in welding quality standards such as ISO 3834, EN 1090, or ASME/AWS codes.
Welding Procedure and Welder Qualification knowledge, including WPS, PQR, and WPQ preparation.
NDT awareness or qualifications (e.g., PCN Level 2 in MPI/DPI/UT desirable).
Strong understanding of welding processes (MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA, FCAW).
Experience with welding documentation and traceability systems.
Health & Safety training, such as IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent awareness relevant to welding operations.
Experience in fabrication, structural, or heavy engineering environments (industry-specific).
Hands‑on welding or fabrication background, ideally with several years in a workshop or site environment.
Experience performing visual weld inspections in line with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, EN, ASME, AWS).
Familiarity with interpreting welding procedures (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and welder qualifications (WPQ).
Practical experience identifying weld defects and understanding acceptable quality levels.
Exposure to non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods such as MPI, DPI, UT, and radiography (even if not certified).
Experience working with technical drawings, weld maps, and engineering documentation.
Knowledge of various welding processes (MMA, TIG, MIG/MAG, FCAW) and material types.
Experience maintaining inspection records, reports, and traceability documentation.
Background working within quality‑controlled environments such as structural steel, fabrication, oil & gas, or heavy engineering.
Familiarity with health & safety practices related to welding operations and inspection activities.
