This leadership role is responsible for overseeing welding, hardfacing, heat treatment, and fabrication operations while driving excellence in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.

As a Welding & Fabrication Manager, you will lead a team of skilled employees and technical resources to ensure welding-related manufacturing processes meet business objectives, customer requirements, and industry standards. You will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to continuously improve manufacturing performance, implement new technologies, develop employee capabilities, and support a world-class manufacturing environment. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all company, OSHA, EPA, and environmental requirements.
• Drive performance improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Employee Engagement through effective leadership and accountability.
• Ensure all welding, hardfacing, and heat treatment activities are performed in accordance with applicable specifications, procedures, standards, and customer requirements.
• Lead the development and qualification of welding personnel, processes, and manufacturing procedures.
• Partner with Engineering and Product Development teams to address manufacturability concerns and support new product introductions.
• Analyze operational and quality data to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve overall process capability.
• Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), first-pass yield, throughput, and productivity improvements through data-driven decision making.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, visual management, and standard work initiatives across welding and fabrication operations.
• Develop and deliver technical training programs related to welding processes, quality standards, and process discipline.
• Establish and communicate best practices, procedures, and expectations through formal training, visual workplace tools, and team meetings.
• Lead efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and the overall cost of quality while improving customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to resolve operational challenges and improve process performance.
• Participate in the development of capital expenditure plans, support new equipment implementation, and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets while ensuring efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipment resources.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing leadership experience.
• Five (5) or more years of manufacturing leadership experience in welding, fabrication, machining, or related heavy manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading teams and driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Demonstrated experience with problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience using ERP or manufacturing business systems.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, heat treatment, fabrication, and manufacturing operations.
• Experience in a union manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding procedure qualification requirements, ASME code, and personnel qualification processes.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, SMED, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing capital equipment projects, production automation, or welding technology upgrades.
• Familiarity with welding quality systems, non-destructive testing methods, and weld inspection requirements.
• Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operations.
• Professional certifications related to welding, manufacturing, quality, or continuous improvement.
