Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced Welder/Welding Technician to support the fabrication and integration of weldments and mechanical assemblies for DoW programs. This position is ideal for a skilled welder who enjoys low-volume, high-mix fabrication and working closely with engineers and manufacturing teams.

As a Welder/Welding Technician, your duties will include the following but are not limited to:

  • MIG weld steel components and assemblies.
  • TIG weld aluminum components and assemblies.
  • Fabricate weldments from engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Build and use welding fixtures and jigs.
  • Fit, assemble, and mechanically integrate fabricated components.
  • Set up and safely operate fabrication equipment.
  • Support design reviews and fabrication readiness reviews.
  • Provide manufacturing input to improve component designs and manufacturability.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive shop environment.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Associate degree, 2 years of formal technical training, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing/fabrication experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Proficient in MIG welding steel.
  • Proficient in TIG welding aluminum.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and weld symbols.
  • Ability to obtain required AWS welding certification.
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality processes.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Experience supporting military systems or mechanical integration.

Workplace safety is a priority at Torch. Candidates must receive and present an OSHA 10-Hour Training Course for General Industry certification (either a card from the Department of Labor or certificate of completion from an authorized trainer) within the first 90 days of employment. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed training prior to employment. Training may be completed online.
