Job Description

SHIFT OPENING INFORMATION

  • PMs: Monday - Thursday 4/10s (3 or 4pm - 2 or 3:00am) includes 20% shift premium
  • Weekends: Sun, Friday - Saturday 3/12s (4:00am - 4:00pm) work 36hrs, get paid for 40hrs, includes 15% shift premium

As a Production Welder/fabricator at Robinson, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process, utilizing your expertise to fabricate high-quality metal components. Working within a dynamic team environment, you will be responsible for executing welding operations with precision and efficiency, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and durability.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment and machinery safely and effectively, adhering to established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to detect defects or irregularities and make necessary adjustments to ensure conformance to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the fabrication department to optimize workflow and achieve production targets within scheduled deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including routine maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to address any issues or concerns related to welding processes or product quality.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality assurance, and workplace conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or vocational training in welding preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, with proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
  • Strong understanding of welding principles, metallurgy, and material properties, with the ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment and tools, including welding machines, torches, grinders, and measuring instruments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity, with the ability to produce precise and consistent welds on a variety of metal materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols and procedures.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in operating additional welding processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
  • Experience with welding various types of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
  • Ability to troubleshoot welding equipment and perform basic repairs as needed.
