Welder/Assembler II

The Welder/Assembler II independently performs advanced welding, fabrication, and repair activities using a variety of equipment and techniques. This role supports turbine and combustion component work, ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and specifications to complete welding and fabrication tasks
• Operate welding equipment such as TIG (GTAW) and MIG, as well as oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting tools
• Perform blending, stress relieving, and metal fabrication processes without supervision
• Install accessories on turbine and combustion components
• Execute major turbine and combustion repairs (Class C)
• Perform total productive maintenance (TPM) on equipment
• Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
• Support training efforts and assist in certifying team members
• Apply preheat and post-heat techniques and educate others on proper methods
• Follow all safety policies and report unsafe conditions
• Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental and company goals
• Maintain clear communication with all levels of the organization
• Uphold confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent, or at least three (3) years of related experience and/or training
• Ability to pass qualification testing per AWS D17.1 standards
• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding techniques
• General knowledge of manufacturing and shop processes
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, drawings, and technical documents
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting measurements
• Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and bending
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Commitment to safety and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
