Job Title:Welder

Job Code: WELD001

The purpose of this job is to weld fabricated pipe components; meeting product specifications and quality requirements by applying appropriate welding techniques.

WAGE TYPE: Hourly

FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Mig & Tig welding, preferably AWS certified
  • Ability to weld thin wall tube applications
  • Experience welding 3 and 4 series stainless steel and carbon steel
  • Welding spare parts in various directions: flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead, etc.
  • Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding spare parts as necessary to satisfy the technicalquality requirements of a welded final product
  • Control the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheat, distortion, expansion or shrink of parts
  • Examining finished products and spare parts to verify that they meet specification requirements
  • Being in charge of preparing and setting up necessary tools and equipment to weld
  • Work within a team environment and train new welders as needed.
  • Good mechanical knowledge. Ability to read blueprintsis required.
  • Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.

  • Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.
  • Any other tasks as required to fulfill Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to: Team Leader

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience:

Expected: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Minimum oftwo years related welding experience and/or training

Preferred: 5 years production welding experience and AWS certification

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
