Position: Welding Helper/ Welding ApprenticeJob Type: ApprenticePay: $18.00-$28.00Experience: 0-2yr welding or similar trade Industry: Trailer Manufacturing | Metal Fabrication | Solar-Powered Trailers

This is a hands-on manufacturing position supporting our welders and assisting with the complete assembly of SPOG solar-powered trailers. The primary responsibilities include measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and preparing metal for our welders, along with assisting in the assembly and construction of solar-powered trailers. This is a great position for someone with mechanical ability who wants to develop additional welding, fabrication, and manufacturing skills.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut steel and aluminum according to specifications.
• Prepare metal components for welders.
• Grind, clean, drill, and fit metal components before welding.
• Use saws, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools.
• Assist welders with positioning and fitting components.
• Prepare brackets, tubing, framing, and other trailer components.
• Assist with trailer frame and body assembly.
• Install walls, insulation, flooring, doors, equipment mounts, and interior components.
• Assist with mounting solar panels and solar equipment.
• Assist with battery, inverter, HVAC, lighting, and equipment installation under the direction of qualified team members.
• Perform general mechanical and trailer assembly work.
• Read tape measures and follow basic drawings and measurements.
• Maintain an organized manufacturing and fabrication area.
• Keep materials and components organized for production.
• Follow all company safety procedures.
• Assist the manufacturing team wherever needed to keep trailers moving through production.

Qualifications

• Previous construction, fabrication, manufacturing, automotive, trailer, mechanical, or welding experience is preferred.
• Experience using saws, grinders, drills, and hand/power tools.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Basic metal fabrication knowledge is preferred.
• Welding experience is a plus but is not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work from basic drawings and measurements.
• Comfortable working with steel and aluminum.
• Mechanically inclined and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
• Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule.
• Strong attention to quality and safety.
