Department: Welding Apprentice

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities
As part of the team, you’ll be expected to:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project requirements.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools (MIG, TIG, Stick, arc, etc.).
- Cut, prep, align, clamp, and assemble metal components precisely to spec.
- Weld in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) as needed.
- Inspect finished welds for quality, strength, and compliance with project specs and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
For candidates in a lead role / Welding Foreman: additionally
- Guide, train, and mentor less-experienced welders.
- Oversee projects on-site, coordinate tasks, manage materials/equipment, and ensure quality control and timely completion.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High-school diploma or equivalent (or GED) or submitted proof of welding apprenticeship/training.
- Basic welding experience (for entry-level) or 3–5+ years welding/metal fabrication experience (for experienced roles).
- Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints.
- Familiarity with standard welding tools and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, safety awareness, and physical stamina (lifting, standing, manual labor).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on environment.
Preferred (but not required):
- Certification from a recognized welding program or apprenticeship.
- Prior experience with structural/steel fabrication or working on construction sites.
