Job Description

A Welder is responsible for assembling, fabricating, repairing metal structures and components using welding techniques. The welder must read and interpret blueprints, operate welding equipment, lifting heavy materials and ensuring high quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, build packets, and measurements to plan layouts.
  • Perform various welding techniques
  • Set up welding machines based on job requirements
  • Sourcing cart with correct materials needed for the project
  • Operate grinders, cutters, and other tools to prepare metal surfaces
  • Welding various sizes of products that are either steel or aluminum
  • Assist with inventory management, logging time spent on projects in company system.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in MIG welding processes
  • Fabrication and/or welding experience in aluminum or steel required
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Basic measurement and math skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work with a team and exercise good judgement in decision making
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy materials and work in demanding conditions
  • Skilled in various hand and power tools

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of welding experience

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work Schedule 6:00-4:30PM Monday-Thursday
  • Overtime may be required based on production demands
  • Exposure to high temperatures, sparks, and fumes
  • Lifting heavy materials up to 50 lbs
  • Standing for extended period of time
  • Requires wearing personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
