Job Description

• Repairs defects on castings by welding as per required specifications.

• Takes appropriate care to Howmet’s tools and equipment.

• Consults the router to certify the piece. Checks the instructions to locate the required repairs.

• Adjusts the welding equipment for the type of repairs required (location and thickness) and performs a high-quality weld following the proper welding technique.

• Follows all the necessary safety measures in performing the work and informs co-workers of any safety precautions.

• Performs pre and post weld blend and preparation operations on castings using hand and bench mounted tools as required.

• Ensures that all the required documents of the router have been stamped and signed when the welding repairs have been completed.

• Performs other duties as required.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

• Professional High School Diploma with welding certificate or High School Certificate with 5 years of Aluminum TIG welding experience.
