Job Description

Milacron is looking for an CNC Operator / Welder to join our team in Mt. Orab, Ohio. In this position, you will be responsible for operating grinding and finishing equipment, inspecting and verifying product quality, supporting manufacturing operations, and performing welding duties as production needs require.

Work You’ll Do:

• Operate grinding and finishing equipment to smooth, shape, and finish castings, billets, machine parts, and other metal components according to specifications.
• Remove excess metal, burrs, scratches, and surface imperfections using grinding equipment and power tools.
• Examine and measure workpieces to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Select and install appropriate abrasive wheels and tooling to achieve specified surface finishes.
• Inspect products and accurately document inspection results using established procedures.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sectional views, and manufacturing specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and perform routine preventative maintenance activities.
• Operate overhead cranes, precision measuring instruments, power tools, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
• Prepare steel, cast iron, aluminum, and stainless-steel components for welding and perform MIG, arc, and gas welding as needed.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent technical education required.
• 1-5 years of manufacturing, machining, grinding, welding, or related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and safely move materials.
• Basic computer skills and mathematical abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated flexibility in high-pressure situations, changing priorities, and new assignments.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, workplace safety, and teamwork.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn new processes and support multiple manufacturing functions as needed.
• Previous experience operating grinding equipment, CNC equipment, or manufacturing machinery preferred.
• Welding experience with MIG, arc, or gas welding preferred.
• Welding certification or formal welding training preferred.
• Experience in a CNC machining, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with precision inspection methods and quality documentation preferred.
