As a Welded Cage Machine Operator will be responsible to ensure all rebar cages meet quality standards, fabrication requirements, and welding requirements. This is a hands-on role that requires us to work in a team with our production team, rebar detailing team and operations as business needs. Other responsibilities include:
This position is full-time temporary/seasonal.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fabricating and assembly of welded rebar cages.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped
• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure productivity and efficiency
• General production and warehouse help as required
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and safe manner
• Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulation.
• Adjust and set the welding robot to production specifications.
• Participate in production meetings as required.
• Perform safety and maintenance checks on the cage machine as required.
• Ensure compliance to and participate in all safety and fire regulations (including but not limited to toolbox meetings, inspections, maintenance logs, and walkthroughs).
• Commitment toward being a team player, stepping in when required and overall attitude toward team environment, willingness to do whatever task is required
What You’ll Need:
• Ability to work in a fast paced & stressful environment while maintaining a positive and calm demeanor.
• Basic math skills
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Welding experience would be considered a preferred.
• CSA approved Steel Toed Work Boots.
• Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently
• Good understanding of customer service for both internal and external customers
