This supervisory position is responsible for production, safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the Plant. Provides leadership, direction, and instructions for the unionized workforce. This position also acts as a liaison between production, departments upstream and downstream, and the Administrative Staff. This is a rotation shift Supervisory position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent has the responsibility to execute manufacturing schedules based on requirements from management:
· Leads the projects through completion within the schedule and budget constraints
· Maintain the forecast and schedule for the department, based on the project workload and constraint dates
· Ensure that the applicable company ISO standards are adhered to
· Communicating before and after each shift with other supervisors
· Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data
· Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments
· Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects
· Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including those related to safety and health.
· Plant Housekeeping
· Assist in determining raw material needs, inventorying, and pulling of materials for uninterrupted production
· Employee Training
· Investigate, reconcile, and root cause problem solving
· Must be able to lead and improve a team through daily communication
· Must be very self-organized and self-motivated
· All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
· Generally, works on simple to moderately complex work assignments. Articulates in analyzing potential problems, provides options, and implements agreed solutions.
· Working knowledge of Lean/ Six Sigma preferred
· Previous industrial experience of 2-4 years required
· Knowledge of AWS welding standards
· Strong root cause and troubleshooting capabilities – expected to be a technical expert
· Previous experience with MIG/TIG/Stick welding

PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS
· Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, must stand for long periods of time, will be exposed to loud noise levels, and operate hand and power tools for long periods of time. Work in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust.
· Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory
· Periods of sitting at a desk working on computers
· Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a Second Shift Position, Monday through Friday. Some weekend, overtime, and on call is required.
