Weighbridge Supervisor

Role Overview

The Weighbridge Supervisor is responsible for the accurate weighing of all inbound and outbound trucks at the Distribution Centre, ensuring that deliveries comply with weight standards, SKU specifications, and safety regulations. This role is critical for inventory integrity, dispatch accuracy, and legal compliance.

The Weighbridge Supervisor reports to the Deputy Lead Dispatch, coordinating closely with warehouse and transport teams, but does not manage dispatch operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Detailed Activities

• Weighbridge Operations Operate and monitor the weighbridge to ensure trucks are weighed accurately.

• Validate delivery weights against individual SKU weights, ensuring compliance with minimum and maximum thresholds.

• Escalate discrepancies to the Deputy Lead Dispatch for resolution.

• Maintain logs of all weighbridge operations for auditing and reporting purposes.

Record Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain digital records in the legacy weighbridge system.

• Generate daily reports of inbound and outbound weights for Deputy Lead Dispatch.

• Provide insights into exceptions, overweight trucks, or missing documentation.

Coordination with Transport & Warehouse Teams

• Liaise with transporters to confirm truck arrivals and departures.

• Notify warehouse staff of truck readiness to streamline loading/unloading.

• Escalate delays or weight issues affecting dispatch.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all weighbridge operations comply with company policies, local transport regulations, and safety standards.

• Conduct regular checks of weighbridge equipment and notify maintenance for any calibration issues.

• Escalate safety risks promptly.

Continuous Improvement

• Suggest process improvements for weighbridge operations, data accuracy, and reporting efficiency.

• Collaborate with the Deputy Lead Dispatch to integrate weighbridge data into broader dispatch metrics.


Requirements


Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mechanical, or related field.

• Experience with weighbridge operations or logistics coordination.

• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and integrity.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and escalate operational issues.

• Basic proficiency in Excel or similar reporting tools.
