Job Title: Weekend Support Worker – Residential Services (Women's Service)
Salary: From £23,500 per annum pro rata
Location: Brimscombe, Stroud
Hours: 16 hours, 8am to 4.30pm alternate weekends on a fixed rota
Pension: Auto enrolment pension (6% employer contribution)

As a Weekend Support Worker, you will be instrumental in our mission to empower individuals on their path to recovery. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety, support, and wellbeing of our clients during weekends. This role requires dedication, compassion, and a commitment to upholding the values of The Nelson Trust.
In this role, you will engage with clients, providing them with the support and motivation they need to navigate their recovery journey. Additionally, you will coordinate weekend activities, oversee client visits, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective coverage and support.
You will play a vital role in continuing the treatment program for our clients, and the right candidate will be approachable, supportive and responsive. The Nelson Trust are experts in the provision of residential treatment and support for people with an addiction. This includes working with families and a dedicated residential addiction treatment provision for women who have been impacted by trauma, which includes a specialist programme for women with a history of sex working.
Our approach is trauma informed, relational and oriented to lifelong recovery. In addition to treatment, we provide education, training and employment services, resettlement housing, and community-based support for those who identify as being in recovery from addiction.
In the community, we provide a wide range of services, across Gloucestershire, Swindon & Wiltshire and Avon &
Somerset from our Women’s Community Centres. We work with justice involved women, women with mental
health issues, survivors of violence, abuse, and women who experience complex disadvantage.
Our experience of working with women has informed our service delivery response to their experiences.
Most of the women we work with have experienced abuse, trauma and sexual exploitation prior to entering
adulthood.
We believe that change is possible given the appropriate opportunity through individualised, holistic support and
trauma informed approaches that respond to their life experiences and current challenges.
