
The Pharmacy Technician Hazardous Sterile Compounding is responsible for assisting Pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) and non-sterile drug products.
Under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist and following established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and USP guidelines, prepares sterile preparations (CSPs) including both hazardous and non-hazardous sterile preparations and non-sterile drug products in order to ensure medications are ready and available for administration to the patient.
Maintains accurate records utilizing established policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Understanding of governing policies (USP <795>, <797>, and <800>) of sterile and non-sterile drug preparation
• Proficient understanding of Environmental Monitoring Procedures
• Solid understanding of technician responsibilities in electronic health record (EPIC)
• Demonstrate strong understanding of various electronic and automated systems to accurately document work performed throughout the compounding process and/or the medication delivery process.
• Demonstrated ability to use mathematical methods and functions required for pharmaceutical preparation.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite specifically MS word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and patient support members.
• Able to prioritize work and adapt to new workflows and processes.
• Able to work as part of a team.
