
We are seeking an experienced WebMethods Platform Administrator to manage, maintain, and support our IBM/Software AG WebMethods integration platform and its associated infrastructure.
This role is responsible for the administration, operation, maintenance, security, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the WebMethods environment across development, test, and production landscapes. The individual will act as the primary technical owner of the platform, ensuring high availability, stability, performance, and compliance with corporate standards.
The position requires strong expertise in middleware administration, server infrastructure, networking, security, troubleshooting, and migration activities, while working closely with integration developers, infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders.
Administer and maintain IBM/Software AG WebMethods environments, including:
Integration Server
Universal Messaging
My WebMethods Server
API Gateway
Trading Networks
Optimize (if applicable)
Command Central (if applicable)
Manage platform configuration, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Monitor system health, availability, and performance.
Manage middleware infrastructure across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
Coordinate platform upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and security updates.
Perform server provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management.
Support infrastructure modernization and migration projects.
Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and authentication mechanisms.
Coordinate platform security reviews and compliance activities.
Implement and maintain SSL certificates, secure communications, and access controls.
Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and remediation plans.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving:
Firewalls
VPNs
Load balancers
DNS
SSL/TLS
Reverse proxies
External partner integrations
Coordinate with network and infrastructure teams to resolve communication issues between platforms.
Serve as Level 3 support for platform and infrastructure incidents.
Analyze logs, diagnostics, and performance metrics to identify root causes.
Lead resolution efforts for critical production issues.
Participate in on-call support rotations when required.
Configure and maintain monitoring solutions.
Analyze application and infrastructure logs.
Establish proactive alerting and operational dashboards.
Produce operational and availability reports.
Lead platform migration projects.
Support data center migrations, cloud migrations, and disaster recovery initiatives.
Develop deployment and rollback procedures.
Maintain platform documentation and operational runbooks.
Define operational standards and administration procedures.
Maintain platform documentation and knowledge base.
Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.
Mentor junior administrators and support teams.
7+ years of experience administering IBM/Software AG WebMethods environments.
Strong knowledge of:
Integration Server
Universal Messaging
API Gateway
My WebMethods Server
Experience with Linux and Windows Server administration.
Experience managing middleware environments in enterprise-scale organizations.
Strong understanding of:
TCP/IP
DNS
SSL/TLS
Firewalls
Load Balancers
Reverse Proxies
Experience with platform monitoring and log analysis.
Experience performing upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or OpenShift.
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Prometheus.
Software AG certifications are highly desirable.
