Purpose:
Web Engineer II is a hands-on Full Stack Developer position within Partner & Product Integration, responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable partner onboarding and eCommerce integration solutions. The individual will contribute across the stack using React, Node.js, and PHP, and will work closely with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver high-quality features that enhance customer and partner journeys. The role also requires working knowledge of eCommerce platforms such as Shopify and Magento, including building and supporting integrations, customizing workflows, and troubleshooting production issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Build new web solutions/platforms and enhancements, working closely with requirements analysts, testers, and the customer in an agile development practice
Design, build, and maintain modern web applications using React (frontend) and Node.js / PHP (backend)
Develop and support integrations with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify and Magento, including APIs, webhooks, and partner onboarding flows.
Build reusable components, services, and APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with product, UX, QA, and operations teams throughout the SDLC—from requirements through development, testing, release, and post-production support.
Participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to engineering standards, and promote best practices (security, reliability, and clean code).
Troubleshoot and resolve defects across environments, including root-cause analysis for production issues and performance bottlenecks.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation efforts to improve deployment speed and release quality.
Create and maintain technical documentation for features, APIs, integrations, and operational runbooks.
Work effectively with geographically distributed teams and ensure timely delivery of committed work.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies while maintaining proficiency in existing technologies
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree with modern application development experience, with a minimum 2+ years of experience in Technology and in Software Development using Node and React JS or in lieu of a degree 4+ years of relevant experience.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in Information Technology
Minimum 2 year of hands-on experience on scripting technologies including frameworks like Node, React and PHP is a must.
Experience in developing applications using Shopify and/or Magento
Experience with Micro-Front end is a huge plus.
Exposure to AWS is an added advantage.
Ability to work/understand with CI/CD technologies.
Good understanding of SQL/No SQL
Good understanding of SDLC processes (Agile) and release management processes
Willing to work flexible shift timings to be able to respond to emergencies
Superior oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Eligibility Criteria :

Work Timings: 2PM - 11PM IST
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
