Job Description

Crimson Global Academy (CGA) is a world-class online school delivering live, real-time learning to ambitious students around the world. With over 1000 students joining us from 65 countries, our vision is to unlock our students' limitless potential, together, for extraordinary futures.

We are doing this by:

  • Igniting a passion for learning that accelerates academic performance and success regardless of age.

  • Fostering a global community that broadens students' perspectives and develops their skills to make a difference on the world stage.

  • Providing cutting-edge technology for teachers to launch students into their future while giving parents transparency into their child’s education.

And we need your help to take our expansion global! Our team is looking to bring on someone to support the growth of upcoming marketing initiatives. This role will be fast-paced, with a breadth of day-to-day activities and endless development opportunities.

We are hiring with the view that the role may transition to a full-time position beyond the initial project period.

What this role is responsible for:

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the platform that powers the Crimson Global Academy website. We use a modern Next.js stack with a headless CMS and static site generation, so this role is perfect for someone who is passionate about front-end development and SEO, and happy to learn about DevOps and integrations as the need arises.

As a developer you’ll write great code that meets our standards (and more importantly code that you are proud of), and nurture your colleagues’ skills; collaborating with them to improve the quality, efficiency, reliability and timeliness of the work we deliver. We’re looking for someone to help shape CGA’s online presence, who is enthusiastic about everything we’re working on to help us step it up a level.

What success looks like:

  • CGA is successful when our students are successful.

  • Be actively involved in solving technical problems, from design to development.

  • Work with Product Managers and other Stakeholders to tell a clear story about the value your work delivers, or will deliver.

  • Give good estimates, keep Product Owners updated, and deliver when you said you would.

  • Communicate well with your teammates and the rest of the company.

  • Document judiciously, knowledge is not power unless it is shared.

  • Build software, write code, that you and your team would be happy to put your names to. Help your colleagues get better at doing the same.

  • Test-drive your development so that once you’re done your work never goes backwards.

  • Follow development, testing and continuous-deployment processes, so that every release goes smoothly.

  • Monitor the health and performance of CGA’s website.

How you’ll know you’re crushing it (KPI’s):

  • Fast page loads

  • Excellent scores on audit tools such as Google Lighthouse and Google PageSpeed Insights

  • Great SEO performance (this is not a pure SEO role, but SEO requires a good technical foundation)

  • On-time delivery

  • Website success measures such as conversion rate, and revenue generated via the website

What skills and experience you’ll need:

  • You are enthusiastic about web development

  • Our stack is:

    • Next.js and React

    • HTML5/CSS/Tailwind

    • Typescript

    • Node

    • Vercel and AWS

    • Storyblok

  • Experience with technical SEO, particularly hreflangs, sitemaps, site hierarchy

  • You’re passionate about building great relationships with your team, and the rest of the global CGA team

  • Keen problem solver, and willing to embrace the challenges of delivering a world-class education experience to users all around the globe

  • Keen to work in a team who have each other’s backs and deliver what they’ve committed to

  • Are a life-long learner, always curious, always open to new thing.
