Job Description

The Web Coordinator will maintain web content and design for the websites directly related to the Archdiocese of Baltimore including www.archbalt.org and catholicreview.org to ensure that the assigned websites are functional, accurate, and up to date.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates and maintains external websites; posts web content on a daily basis
  • Reviews web content, links and design; provides necessary updates and enhancements in a timely manner.
  • Manages website permissions and access.
  • Responds and fulfills ticket requests
  • Advises and supports managers of AOB affiliated websites, including parishes and Catholic organizations.
  • Project manages website redesign and migration in collaboration with design firm and AOB/CR team.
  • Monitors and removes outdated website content, while ensuring valuable content remains public or archived.
  • Monitors site security; reports suspected or actual security breaches and denial of service attacks to appropriate staff.
  • Identifies useful site performance metrics; collects, tracks, records, compiles, analyzes, and reports site usage data.
  • Conducts user testing and use analysis to assess usability and effectiveness of site; recommends improvements based on analysis.
  • Discusses, analyzes, reviews and resolves usability issues in conjunction with development teams. Effectively uses SEO and other tools to measure site traffic and performance.
  • Maintains knowledge and expertise in web design and development
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or two years of vocational school required; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Web Development, or related field preferred
  • At least two years of related experience highly preferred
  • WordPress theme and widget installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting expertise
  • Thorough understanding of website design and administration
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency with markup and programming languages including HTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Experience with Google Analytics required. Experience with ChartBeat preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related software
  • Adequate knowledge of relational database systems
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
  • Willing to be flexible with schedule for time-sensitive events or projects
  • Working knowledge of the Catholic faith
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Pay Rate: $70,000, Annualized
