What you’ll do at DBH

The Web Content Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging, accessible, and compliant content across the agency’s digital platforms. This role blends creative and technical expertise to ensure our websites and intranet effectively communicate our mission, services, and resources to staff, clients and the community. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of content management systems, web standards, accessibility guidelines (Section 508/WCAG), and modern web technologies to deliver high quality digital experiences.

At DBH, our IT staff is motivated by the agency’s mission, and we are accepting applications for a Web Content Developer [Software Development Specialist 3 (6994)], primary technology: Contentful, Cloudinary DAM, secondary: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Pro within the Office of Information Technology, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 33rd floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and publish website content and web pages using CMS platforms, HTML, and CSS

  • Ensure all web content meet accessibility, usability, quality assurance, branding standards, and compliance standards, including WCAG and Section 508 requirements

  • Collaborate with communications, IT, and program teams to create and optimize web content that aligns with agency priorities

  • Design and implement page layouts, graphics, and multimedia elements that enhance user experience and engagement

  • Monitor website performance, analytics, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to improve visibility and responsiveness

  • Maintain version control and follow established workflows for publishing and approvals

  • Support the migration, testing, and launch of new sites, features, or redesigns

  • Stay current on emerging web technologies and accessibility best practices

This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of35on the OCSEA Pay Range ScheduleNormal working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position is located within our Central OfficeatJames A. Rhodes Tower 33

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; And 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following:

assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Alternative 3:

60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following:

assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
