Job Description

Managing a departmental team to effectively meet/exceed customer expectations, internally and externally; by clearly communicating safety, quality, cost and production requirements. Critical to the success of this role involves the engagement of the entire team through active participation in continuous improvement initiatives and recognition.

SAFETY AND PROCEDURES

· Follow all publicized safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job.

· Ensure the proper use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Attend and participate in all plant and departmental safety programs and initiatives, audits, and Behavior Based Safety programs assigned.

· Report, document, and correct all safety hazards and behaviors when identified.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

SAFETY

· As necessary, complete accident investigation forms within 24 hours

· As necessary, address safety items from other shifts

QUALITY

· Understand and maintain Department Quality Standards

· Work with shift Quality team to determine severity of defects

· As necessary, make use of the Plant Quality Team in the decision making process

· Work with IPT and Department Manager on 5 Why’s, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Process

PRODUCTION

· Review Staffing for shift and assign work assignments for direct reports

· Review Rush list to ensure priority fabrics are on schedule to clear the department as needed

ETHICS

· Reads, understands and is committed to conducting business in accordance to Albany International’s Business Ethics Policy. All business of the company should, at all times, be conducted ethically, fairly, honestly and with integrity.

TIER MEETINGS

· Pre-meeting, review Supervisors Standard Work

· Ensure Red-to-Green items are addressed as necessary

· Cover Safety and Quality items as necessary

· Cover previous days performance gaps and address

· Direct Ergonomic Stretching exercises

5S

· Perform 5S walk-through at beginning of shift and continuously monitor 5S during shift

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

· Input time and attendance in ADP

· Review Supervisor Standard Work with Area Manager

· Work with Production Planning to control flow of work through Department

· Daily Department reviews with Area Manager

· Yearly employee evaluations

· Recognition and Disciplinary procedures with employees as required

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills:

· Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills

· Must lead by example

· Must understand and exemplify company and plant policies

· Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel

· SAP Knowledge

· Successful completion of leadership course

Required Experience:

· Supervisory or other Leader type role

· Performed a minimum of six months as sub-supervisor

Education Requirements:

· High School Diploma

· Must be willing to attend college to obtain a minimum 2 year degree in Business or other related field of study.
