Summary/Objective
The ADS Program Lead is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing a comprehensive activity and recreation program for individuals served. This role focuses on enhancing quality of life by promoting social engagement, physical activity, and community involvement, while ensuring programming reflects individual needs, interests, and abilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Plan, develop, and implement a variety of recreational and social programs, including music, arts and crafts, cultural activities, community outings, and physical exercise.
- Coordinate and manage daily and monthly activity schedules; communicate and assist individuals with participation.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages self-expression, independence, and engagement.
- Assess and incorporate individuals’ interests, abilities, and goals into program planning.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer support for program activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with individuals served, families, and community partners.
- Stay informed of local community resources and integrate opportunities into programming.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and support community engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, universal precautions, and company policies and procedures.
- Report program outcomes and operational updates to leadership; recommend improvements as needed.
Program Administration
- Maintain accurate and organized records, including:
- - Individual social histories (interests, abilities, needs)
- - Community and volunteer resources
- - Activity materials and supply inventory
- - Program expenditures and budget tracking
- Assist in the development and management of program budgets.
- Introduce new activities, materials, and program enhancements to improve engagement.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Coordinate and oversee volunteers and activity support staff.
- Collaborate with Support Service Administrators (SSAs) to ensure individuals receive appropriate services and support.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or manipulate objects.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Visual abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking and hearing.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in activity programming, recreation, or human services.
