JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this job is lead the development, effectiveness and the consolidation of approximately 65 Armaments supervisors and tradesmen (RSAF and CMS) employed on the Aircraft Generation Flight at KFdAB.To manage the engineering activities and ensure effective supervision of Weapons personnel in order to ensure that maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft are carried out in accordance with The RSAF Regulatory Framework. The job holder will supervise RSAF & CMS personnel as well as lead the mentoring and consolidation development of these tradesmen in the Forward Maintenance environment.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
·Establish the optimum technical development approach for circa 65 Armaments tradesmen;
·Lead the technical development of the Armaments tradesman, including RSAF and CMS consolidation;
·Establish and maintain an individual development plan for each member of the Armament trade;
·Provide trade leadership in the effective control and supervision of all maintenance activities carried out on Typhoon aircraft by Armament tradesmen;
·Ensure that all personnel are engaged in activities in their Area of Responsibility following the correct practices and observe safety precautions thereby complying with the requirements and limitations detailed in the Salam Support Safety Case Report;
·Ensuring that no one is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk in his Area of Responsibility, as far as is reasonably practicable;
·Ensuring that all maintenance activities conducted within an Area of Responsibility are carried out in accordance with approved data and by appropriately authorised, qualified and experienced personnel.
·Ensuring good husbandry practices are implemented effectively.
·Ensuring FOD control measures are implemented effectively.
·Ensuring that relevant Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Error Management Systems are understood and implemented by staff under his supervision.
·Coaching and mentoring BAES and RSAF personnel under his supervision.
·Transferring knowledge and delivering consolidation development to RSAF & CMS personnel under their supervision.
·Completing any other reasonable duties or requests made by appropriate line managers.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
·Must be educated to HNC level or recognised equivalent or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training.
·Must have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or similar qualification in aircraft systems.
·Must have previous Typhoon Weapon Systems experience with a formal ‘Q’ annotation.
·Must have substantial post qualification experience of military fast jet maintenance support, at Senior Supervisor level within an operational military flying environment and proven ability to manage all levels of engineering personnel
·Good level of interpersonal skill to co-ordinate a number of activities and the ability to communicate, influence and direct decision making.
·Good understanding of company processes and procedures and industry knowledge.
·Fluent in English

·An understanding of engineering operating procedures
·Proven Managerial experience within the aerospace industry preferably gained on 3rd and/or 4th Generation military aircraft at Senior Supervisor level or equivalent.
·Experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country preferred.
·The ability to act upon his own initiative within the scope of his job.
·A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.
·A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
·An understanding of ESS or similar electronic based reporting system.
