We are seeking an experienced and client‑focused Wealth Planning professional to join our growing Isle of Man team. In this role, you will deliver holistic, high‑quality wealth planning advice to a diverse portfolio of clients, helping them achieve their financial ambitions through thoughtful, personalised solutions.
You will build and nurture strong client relationships, contribute positively to business development activities, and collaborate closely with colleagues across Canaccord Wealth to ensure an exceptional and seamless client experience.
For senior candidates, this opportunity also includes the chance to act as a subject matter expert—supporting the Head of Wealth Planning, IOM in shaping and enhancing our financial planning proposition, driving strategic growth initiatives, and supporting the refinement of processes, procedures, and overall service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Wealth Planner
- Build, maintain and continue to grow strong client relationships with professional conduct and integrity
- Provide prospective and existing clients with holistic wealth advice, advising on pensions, investments and Wealth Planning with a focus on good client outcomes, within an ethical and professional culture adopting a commercial approach to control the cost base
- Engender strong relationships with clients and ensure clients are kept aware of Canaccord’s investment views, ideas, and wealth management services by liaising with clients directly or indirectly via the client relationship managers
- Take an active role in local business development and to manage and service clients in accordance with their advice needs and mandates
- Network and build new relationships with industry professionals and potential clients. Out of office hours client entertainment may be required from time to time
- Foster successful integration and cooperation within the entire office by promoting a culture of collaboration, communication, and mutual respect
Wealth Planning Director
Along with the above responsibilities;
- Demonstrate strong self‑motivation in cultivating and nurturing a portfolio of long-term wealth‑planning clients, while actively deepening engagement with clients and expanding share‑of‑wallet opportunities across the business
- Forge close working relationships with Client Administration and Client Services teams for them to ensure processing of all client business in an accurate and timely manner
- Support the senior leadership team in continually developing the firm’s market proposition
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least Level 4 qualified with a relevant Financial Planning professional qualification
- Knowledge of Financial Planning products and a full understanding of the end-to-end Financial Planning process
- Achievement and annual renewal of CPD and SPS
- Must be assessed as competent to provide wealth planning advice and service under T&C policies
- Solid IT Skills including Microsoft Office Package and CRM database system
- A good understanding of financial regulations in Isle of Man and to keep abreast of regulatory changes and market practice to ensure that all dealings on behalf of clients are following all relevant rules and regulations
- Ensure that investments recommended/made are suitable for the client in question
- Ability to sustain and nurture long-term business and professional relationships both internally and externally
- Fosters a team ethic, able to build empathy with colleagues and clients and considers the wider team
- Focus on commerciality, makes effective decisions considering the commercial/risk impact upon the business
- Resilient and able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and proactive approach

Wealth Planner
- Suitable experience working in a Wealth Planning role
- Good knowledge of Planning procedures and processes
- Ability to become proficient in systems including; XPlan, Voyant, Avaloq, Pharos, and cashflow planning software
- A good understanding of all relevant policies that relate to your role and responsibilities
- Confident communicator at all levels, with the ability to adapt approach depending on audience, and manage difficult discussions
- Strong presentation skills, demonstrates positive personal impact qualities such as leadership, influencing, credibility and empathy
- Good written communication skills, able to construct logical, clear, and concise documentation appropriate to given audience
- Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads for self and to assist others, with a strong focus on following business processes
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of anticipating, resolving and owning problems through to resolution.
Wealth Planning Director
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a Wealth Planning role
- Strong knowledge of Planning procedures and processes including good working knowledge of XPlan and Voyant
- Experience of Cashflow Planning software (preferable)
- A strong understanding of all relevant policies that relate to your role and responsibilities
- Outstanding presentation skills, demonstrates positive personal impact qualities such as leadership, influencing, credibility and empathy
- Well-developed written communication skills, able to construct logical, clear, and concise documentation appropriate to given audience
- Highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads for self and to assist others, with a strong focus on following business processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of anticipating, resolving and owning problems through to resolution
