We are seeking an experienced and client‑focused Wealth Planning professional to join our growing Jersey team. In this role, the successful candidate will deliver holistic, high‑quality wealth planning advice to a diverse portfolio of clients, helping them achieve their financial ambitions through thoughtful, personalised solutions.

They will build and nurture strong client relationships, contribute positively to business development activities, and collaborate closely with colleagues across Canaccord Wealth to ensure an exceptional and seamless client experience.

This opportunity also includes the chance to act as a subject matter expert—supporting the Head of Wealth Planning, Jersey in shaping and enhancing our financial planning proposition, driving strategic growth initiatives, and supporting the refinement of processes, procedures, and overall service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Wealth Planning
  • Build, maintain and continue to grow strong client relationships with professional conduct and integrity
  • Provide prospective and existing clients with holistic wealth advice, advising on pensions, investments and Wealth Planning with a focus on good client outcomes, within an ethical and professional culture adopting a commercial approach to control the cost base
  • Maintain a pro-active approach with clients for ongoing servicing of their financial needs, ensuring client service agreements are in place to specify and disclose levels of service and costs
  • Ensure all work is in accordance with current advice standards, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • To carry out administrative duties relating to the role
  • Provide prospective and existing clients with wealth planning advice recommending suitable products/services to meet their needs/expectations to deliver good outcomes, adapting your approach for individual client circumstances, including vulnerable clients.

Client Servicing and Business Development
  • Demonstrate strong self motivation in cultivating and nurturing a portfolio of long-term wealth planning clients, while actively deepening engagement with clients and expanding share of wallet opportunities across the business
  • To engender strong relationships with clients and ensure clients are kept aware of Canaccord’s investment views, ideas, and wealth management services by liaising with clients directly or indirectly via the client relationship managers
  • Take an active role in local business development and to manage and service clients in accordance with their advice needs and mandates
  • Actively contribute to the development of new business opportunities for the business and the wider Group companies
  • To complete suitability reviews with clients to a high standard and in a timely manner, ensuring that client needs continue to be met, and additional client needs identified
  • Build and develop local professional connections to support business growth
  • Forge close working relationships with Client Administration and Client Services teams for them to ensure processing of all client business in an accurate and timely manner
  • Effective networking with professional introducers and providers to promote the products/services of the business
  • Network and build new relationships with industry professionals and potential clients. Out of office hours client entertainment may be required from time to time
  • Deliver and attend seminars and conferences, presenting technical subject matters confidently
  • Build, maintain and continue to grow strong client relationships with professional conduct and integrity
  • Active involvement in company-wide projects to improve efficiencies and new service delivery, together with a willingness and desire to work with other colleagues on Group related projects as and when required
  • Develop close working relationships with colleagues in CWL on joint initiatives to support business growth
  • Support the senior leadership team in continually developing the firm’s market proposition
  • Conduct individual client consultations and ongoing service reviews, ensuring all documentation of meetings are recorded and any actions taken within prescribed timescales, ensuring good client outcomes
  • Maintain an effective and smooth service of the client/customer relationship
  • Maintain awareness of and actively react and respond to industry best practice, issues and market trends
  • Work with colleagues to ensure synergy and consistency in cultural and operational practices across our offices and WP teams, to ensure that all clients receive the best possible Wealth Management service from Canaccord Wealth
  • Maintain a network with external stakeholders to keep abreast of high-level industry changes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Technical/Qualifications
  • At least Level 4 qualified with a relevant Financial Planning professional qualification. Level 6 qualification preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a Wealth Planning role
  • Knowledge of Financial Planning products and a full understanding of the end-to-end Financial Planning process
  • Achievement and annual renewal of CPD
  • Must be assessed as competent to provide wealth planning advice and service under T&C policies

Systems/Internal Processes
  • Strong IT Skills including Microsoft Office Package and CRM database system
  • Strong knowledge of Planning procedures and processes
  • Ability to become proficient in systems including; XPlan, Voyant, Avaloq, Pharos, and cashflow planning software.

Regulatory Awareness/Compliance
  • A strong understanding of all relevant policies that relate to your role and responsibilities
  • A solid understanding of financial regulations in Jersey and to keep abreast of regulatory changes and market practice to ensure that all dealings on behalf of clients are following all relevant rules and regulations
  • Ensure that investments recommended/made are suitable for the client in question
  • Escalate areas of concern or issue in a timely manner.
