The Wealth Manager acquires, maintains, enhances and develops a high net worth client base for the company’s various investment products and services (Private Wealth & Mutual Funds). The position is also responsible for delivery of GAM’s portfolio recommendations based on identified client objectives, risk tolerance & time horizons the client.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assets Under Management (AUM) Generation and Increase – Client Acquisition, Maintenance & Retention
• Generate business through acquisition of new high net worth clients.
• Increase the assets under management of existing clients through sale of additional products.
• Offer clients on-going, pro-active and personalized advice and investment recommendations through a thorough understanding of GAM’s asset allocation.
• Review clients’ portfolios, performance and advises and/or agrees upon alignment of updated portfolio strategy with client objectives and risk tolerance on a quarterly basis upon statement delivery.
• Balance referral activities, customer follow up, prospect building, administrative tasks and required pipeline reporting etc.
• Consult with clients on risk tolerance, investment strategies, options, products and services that are suitable for their needs.
• Track and translates investment performance and makes recommendations.

2. Client Relationship
• Build a strong and long-term relationship with clients.
• Follow up, ensuring that all client enquiries and requests are handled promptly and accurately.
• Keep clients abreast of GAM’s new product offerings, policies and procedures.
• Assist with internal administration of client application.
• Regularly updates client information to meet Compliance guidelines.

3. Client Education
• Keep abreast of competitor and market information.
• Conduct client education seminars/presentations.
• Demonstrate expertise via Thought Leadership activities - e.g. writing articles for website etc.
• Participate in market research, sales events and promotions as required.
• Participate in various group Sales strategies e.g. Social Media, referral campaigns etc.
• Participate in sales events and promotions as required

4. Perform any other job- related duties as assigned by the Vice President- Sales & Marketing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• A First degree from a recognized tertiary educational institution.
• A Postgraduate qualification in Business or Finance.
• At least three (3) years’ experience with a proven track record of successfully managing and developing financial customers.
• At least three (3) years’ experience working in a similar position, as a broker or as a private banker in a comparable segment.
• Three to five (3 - 5) years’ sales experience in a similar capacity.
• Specialized training in the Marketing of financial products.
• Significant knowledge of financial management, investment products and services.
• Keen understanding of the risk, return and liquidity implications of various portfolio strategies.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The Wealth Manager must be extremely professional, articulate, knowledgeable, self-motivated, confident and driven to succeed in a competitive environment. Must demonstrate integrity and trustworthiness, be well organized with the ability to manage time effectively, have superior listening skills and excellent communication and presentation skills. While able to function independently, the Wealth Manager must be comfortable working as part of a team when required to do so, and should be forward thinking in approach, collaborative and team oriented with a strong work ethic. The incumbent should possess the charisma, ambition and drive to assert client leadership over very sophisticated and wealthy clients.
