As a WDSU intern, you will come to understand how a television station operates and be expected to contribute to the operation. You will be engaged in the newsroom, assisting producers, editors, assignment editors, reporters, photographers, and anchors. The intern will also have the opportunity to accompany crews in the field and may even have the opportunity to field produce.

An interest in journalism
The ability to be versatile, as interns handle a wide range of topics and subjects
Some experience or educational training in writing and editing for broadcast; excellent spelling and grammar skills
The ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
Must be well-versed in local and national news stories
