Responsible for removing poured flaskless and flasks molds from pouring floor. Prep pouring floor for day shift pouring (cleaning, sweeping, etc.) Maintain and clean area under and around shakeout area. Remove all feasible sand and core rods from castings prior to moving to grinding room. Use shakeout deck and cranes to remove castings from molds unless specified. Ability to learn how to run all cab and remote foundry cranes. Empty and switch out dust collectors and dust collector bags. Clean and empty reclamation system. Pull any/all loose debris from shakeout deck (flashing, rods, etc.). Empty mixer boxes from core bench and figure 9. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Maintain good housekeeping practices and habits while encouraging the same from coworkers. Exhibits safe execution of all tasks and duties. Work collaboratively with company supervision to meet company goals.
Mostly light lifting with some occasional moderate to heavy lifting. Moderately heavy job moving patterns and related equipment. Works in standing position; at times requires frequent lifting and handling of medium to large castings. Chain hoists available for lifting heavy work. Some heavy lifting, push/pulling on occasion. Heavy physical effort in hand ramming of sand is also required. Some work must be performed in an awkward position.
Employees working in this position are required to frequently walk or hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
