**Position available to be based out of any of Pennoni's Maryland/Washington metro area offices for work located in Baltimore, Annapolis, Howard County, Prince George's County and Montgomery County**

Pennoni Associates is current seeking a Construction Inspector. with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Inspect assigned water & sewer lines to ensure compliance with municipal requirements, specifications, and contracts.
  • Inspect utility & related construction projects for compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Provide documentation of project work activity, equipment utilized, and manpower for projects.
  • Measure and record completed work.
  • Conduct walk-through visits to inspect completed and in-progress work sites.
  • Provides relevant information to Developers, Contractors, and/or other interested parties (when authorized to do so).
  • Work construction hours (which may include overtime) and in inclement weather
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs
  • Obtain and maintain inspection certifications, such as MARTCP, WACEL, ACI
  • Use of standard computer software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, use of iPads and Laptops)
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

At least 3 years of professional experience working in field-based construction inspection.

The candidate will be expected to work in the field, and must possess a Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of an Associate degree (or higher) in an Engineering-oriented or Construction Management field of study
  • Experience working with water, wastewater / sewage, and/or stormwater resources
  • Experience with Traffic Control
  • Holds current MARTCP, ACI, WACEL, or NICET certifications
  • Knowledge of WSSC standards
  • Knowledge of Maryland State Highway Administration standards
  • Knowledge of Prince George’s and Montgomery County standards
  • Experience with paving projects, site grading, and Erosion & Sediment Control
  • Proven ability to demonstrate responsibility and honesty, especially in a dependable manner.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

TARGET PAY RANGE: $28 - $43 (per hour)
