Waterpark Front Desk Cashier & Bag Checker

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Waterpark Front Desk Cashier & Bag Checker In this role, you will deliver warm, friendly, and attentive service to create an exceptional guest experience. You will operate the front desk POS, assist with cabana and premium seating check-ins, support towel desk operations, and help maintain smooth waterpark flow. Additionally, you will ensure guests are not bringing in prohibited items to any of the parks for the sake of safety; items include outside food and beverage, glass containers (including coffee mugs), and weapons.

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll ensure to greet guests warmly, answering questions clearly, and resolving issues quickly so everyone feels welcome and cared for. By staying positive, organized, and supportive with both guests and coworkers, you will help create a smooth, fun, and stress-free experience for all.

*** Position starting as early as September. ***

Must be able to work and be flexible with all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Rate - $15 - $16/Hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all guests are greeted with energy, a genuine smile, positive body language, focused eye contact, feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  • Follow correct credit card handling procedures; process orders by recording orders and computing bill.
  • Work outdoors during the season our outdoor waterpark is open.
  • Assist with ongoing projects, additional job duties as assigned through managers.
  • Conduct swift, thorough inspections of guest bags, coolers, strollers, and personal items according to resort safety standards.
  • Identify and enforce rules regarding prohibited items, including glass, weapons, outside food and beverage, and unsealed or filled water bottles.
  • Confirm that each guest has a properly colored wristband for waterpark access.
  • Direct guests without valid wristbands to the waterpark front desk for assistance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • At least one year of experience in similar guest-facing or service‑oriented industries is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work well in stressful situations.
  • Able to greet guests warmly and maintain a friendly, calm demeanor during busy periods.
  • Comfortable explaining bag‑check policies clearly and respectfully.
  • Capable of de‑escalating minor frustrations or misunderstandings.
  • Maintains awareness of surroundings and guest flow.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds when moving towel carts.
  • Must be able to work in a frequently humid, noisy environment with the possibility of frequent changes in temperature.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive bag‑inspection motions
