Job Category: Nonprofit - Social ServicesAs the Waterfront Director you will implement scheduled summer camp swim programs at Camp Wind in the Pines under the direction of the Camp Director. Maintain Department of Early Education and Care, QRIS, and Department of Public Health requirements, health and safety regulations, and promote the highest quality of customer service.
Responsibilities:
- In coordination with the Camp Director develop, schedule and conduct appropriate swim programs and waterfront activities for Camp Wind in the Pines in Leicester.
- Supervise Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards in the implementation of waterfront programs and activities.
- Interact with all staff in a supportive manner and encourage positive and effective communication among staff and participants.
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Purchase and maintain proper equipment necessary to implement programs offered and maintain a safe swimming environment.
- Work with the Camp Director, follow schedule including Senior Counselors, Counselors and Waterfront personnel in compliance with DEEC and DPH requirements.
- Working with the Camp Director design, develop and implement routines for each program offered, varying routines as appropriate to keep participants interested.
- Establish a baseline of water ability of each camper at enrollment and measure the progress of each participant throughout the camp session.
- Enforce the policies and rules of camp; assist with the management, maintenance and cleanliness of the waterfront site, thus ensuring the safety of all campers.
- Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Current certification in American Red Cross Water Safety, Lifeguarding Today, and CPR for the Professional Rescue required
- Experience in waterfront recreation and waterfront programming
- Ability to work with families and children of diverse backgrounds
- Experience working in child care programs
- Documented supervisory skills and management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to operate the equipment necessary to perform the essential functions of this job
- Able to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
