We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven professional to join the Water Use Investigations team.

About the role:

The Water Use Investigations Team work closely within our group and various departments, investigating and resolving complex water use enquiries for our metro and regional customers. We uphold our corporate Working as One value to deliver on our promises with Empathy and Compassion, whilst balancing our customer's needs with our corporate standards.

As an officer, you will have Subject matter Expert knowledge in all of the Water Use Investigations team processes and would play a pivotal role in supporting our upcoming CBO Uplift program, which aims to elevate our teams processes and output efficiencies, whilst adhering to corporate standards and guidelines.

What you can expect with this role

  • The opportunity to provide expertise and guidance to a dynamic and continually evolving team.
  • Collaboration across a diverse range of teams including Water Use Verifications, Water Loss Prevention, Ratings Services, Customer Financial Solutions, Quality Assurance, AMI, Ratings, Metering Services and Field Services.
  • The opportunity to manage and resolve contentious customer complaints raised via the Energy and Water Ombudsman
  • The ability to provide input to existing processes and future initiatives that may lead to business changes or improvements in customer experience.

Key Skills and experience:

  • You are an innovative problem solver with a galvanised can-do attitude.
  • You seek to role model our values and thrive on collaborating with various departments.
  • Extensive water use and metering knowledge, experience and use of related systems.
  • Experience in Ombudsman and Ministerial contacts is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to engage in outcome focussed coaching combined with skills in training.
  • Outstanding customer engagement skills to manage complex and challenging customer interactions.
  • You actively demonstrate a flexible approach to shifting priorities and demands to support your team.

We’re the principal supplier of water, wastewater and drainage services in Western Australia to hundreds of thousands of homes, businesses and farms, as well as providing bulk water to farms for irrigation.

Our services, projects and activities span over 2.6 million square kilometres. We have regional offices in Perth, Bunbury, Albany, Karratha, Geraldton, Northam and Kalgoorlie which allow our employees to provide a high level of professional expertise to customers.

We have over 3,500 employees and manage an asset base of over $37 billion in water supply, wastewater, drainage infrastructure and bulk water for irrigation.

We’re owned by the Western Australian Government and are accountable to our sole shareholder, the Minister for Water, for delivery of our services in a commercial manner. Water Corporation was created in January 1996, in a restructure of the water industry in Western Australia. The Water Authority in turn had been created in 1985 through a merger of the former Metropolitan Water Authority, which operated in Perth, the state capital, and the water and wastewater operations of the former WA Public Works Department. We’re the seventh successive agency to deal with these services in Perth, Western Australia.
