Description

The Water Treatment Field Service Manager is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising field service crews performing carbon media exchanges and other water treatment services while also supporting day-to-day warehouse operations.

This role will coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and job-site activities; assist with treatment system installations and startups; and ensure our warehouse, inventory, and service equipment remain organized and ready for deployment. Frequent travel is required, including overnight travel Monday through Friday and occasional weekend work based on customer and project needs.

Responsibilities

Field Service & Crew Leadership

  • Lead and supervise technicians performing water treatment system service activities at municipal, industrial, and construction sites.
  • Prepare for, coordinate, and execute activated carbon media exchange services.
  • Coordinate field crews, rental equipment, materials, and resources required for successful service work.
  • Assist with water treatment equipment installations, system startups, maintenance, and service activities.
  • Communicate with technicians, contractors, Project Managers, customers, and internal operations teams throughout each project.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to Sentinel procedures and customer requirements.
  • Train and develop service personnel in proper operating procedures, customer service, and safety expectations.
  • Identify field issues and make sound decisions to keep service activities moving safely and efficiently.
  • Support and oversee daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory storage, equipment staging, and organization.
  • Load, unload, assemble, stage, and prepare equipment and materials for upcoming projects.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure service equipment is ready for field deployment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, efficient, and safe warehouse and work environment.
  • Support inventory management and ensure materials and equipment are properly stored and accounted for.
  • Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other material-handling equipment as required and when properly trained.
  • Represent Sentinel Water Solutions professionally at customer locations and throughout all interactions.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Promote Sentinel's services and identify opportunities for repeat service, preventative maintenance, and additional customer support.
  • Gather customer feedback and communicate opportunities for service improvements to management.
  • Help implement improvements that strengthen the overall customer experience and field service operation.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and Delegation of Authority guidelines.
  • Complete required training and maintain applicable certifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of water treatment system service experience or equivalent industrial field service experience.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising field technicians, service crews, or similar operational teams.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading and collaborating with others.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle and tow required equipment.
  • Ability to successfully complete required DOT physical and company pre-employment requirements.
  • Ability to qualify for and properly use half- and full-face air-purifying respirators.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including Monday through Friday overnight travel and occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Ability to travel by vehicle and commercial air.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 55 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with activated carbon, GAC, filtration, or other water treatment media services.
  • Experience with vacuum systems or similar industrial equipment.
  • OSHA certifications and/or confined space training.
  • Experience operating forklifts and aerial lifts, including scissor lifts and manlifts.
  • Experience supporting water treatment system installations, startups, and maintenance.
  • Previous warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or equipment management experience.
