Location/Division Specific Information:
The Marietta Manufacturing site is a part of the Laboratory Products Division within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our laboratory equipment products are used primarily by pharmaceutical companies for drug discovery and development and by biotechnology companies and universities for life science research to advance the prevention and cure of diseases and enhance quality of life. Our offering consists of equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage and protection, and analysis.

How Will You Make an Impact?:
You will support the manufacturing process by monitoring assembly processes to confirm appropriate recipe and processes and are utilized to allow our team to meet scheduled demands and provide high quality products to our customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:
Required: Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field
Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.
  • Standing, bending, reaching and handling bulky parts is common to the job. Frequently lifts up to 35 pounds.
  • Computer and keyboarding.
  • Assembles products according to drawing and parts lists.
  • Enters product related data into computer system to track component job number.
  • Identifies and executes appropriate backwash procedures based on resin and job requirements.
  • Monitors and maintains operation of pumps to move water between departments and through production process.
  • Reads PSS / drawings to determine position of unit and component parts.
  • Cleans and finishes assembly products using approved cleaners and tools according to PSS book and refers to SDS to ensure safe handling and proper PPE equipment is utilized.
  • Monitors assembly processes to confirm appropriate recipes and process is being implemented.
  • Order and retrieve supplies/materials such as cardboard, bags, warehouse items, etc., using paper, electronic communication, and computerized (SAP) documents.
  • Prepares components and assembles product following diagrams with emphasis on quality.
  • Suggests improvements in work methods and procedures by speaking with work center engineer, supervisor(s) and joining PPI teams when possible.
  • Utilizes computer (SAP) system shared plant-wide to accomplish production goals.
  • Assembles components, tests, cleans, boxes/packs (foam), label, load to pallet, and designates readiness to move to warehouse.
  • Communicates critical data utilizing control documents, logs, and thorough effective verbal communication.
  • Completes documents such as final Inspection Sheets, Total Quality Control sheets, etc., and maintains organized retention of files as determined by process guidelines.
  • Completes quality inspection process during assembly and at key points at designated and completes appropriate internal control documents.
  • Inspects finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Maintains a clean work environment to promote personal and environmental safety.
  • Monitor production equipment and work areas to maintain organized, clean area.
  • Operates and monitors assembly-related machines, such as spin welders, ultrasonic welders, fill stations, leak testing equipment, etc.
  • Sets up and operates production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Collect hazardous or non-hazardous waste in correctly labeled barrels or other containers and transfer them to collection areas.
  • Inspects assembly components for leaks by connecting gas/water/air and performing specified process and listen for or observe results.
  • Maneuvers assembly components by hand in a repetitive manner conducive to efficiency, job specifications, safety, and quality goals.
  • Monitors process of staging product for transfer from production to receiving area.
  • Start up and shut down processing equipment.
  • Tests assembled component to insure that quality and workmanship meets standards before moving piece to next stage of production.
  • Trains others on job duties, quality goals and tracking, company guidelines, etc., and serves as a positive role model in the workplace.
