Schedule: Monday–Friday, with Saturdays and Sundays as needed to support operations. This position is eligible for overtime and is paid on a weekly basis.

This role offers a dynamic, hands-on opportunity to work across multiple areas of water and wastewater treatment operations. You will play a vital role in supporting environmental compliance, maintaining system performance, and ensuring safe, efficient facility operations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy combining technical analysis with fieldwork while contributing to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and support wastewater analysis laboratory activities with accuracy and attention to detail
Perform operation and maintenance of wastewater collection, pre-treatment, and full treatment systems
Collect samples in accordance with EPA, state, and health department regulations
Conduct chemical analyses in both laboratory and field settings
Interpret analytical results and adjust systems to maintain optimal performance and compliance
Apply basic algebraic calculations to support operational processes and reporting
Maintain strict adherence to environmental and regulatory compliance standards
Complete computerized reports and compile required monthly reporting for permits, regulatory agencies, and internal leadership
Maintain accurate operational logs and effectively communicate system status to management
Perform routine and advanced maintenance on equipment and systems
Operate equipment such as spotter trucks and forklifts as needed
Support facility upkeep including groundskeeping, painting, and general housekeeping
Take on additional duties as needed to support team and operational success and/or other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1+ year of Wastewater or Industrial Maintenance experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
Required Training & Certifications
Must successfully complete a storm water training program selected by site management within 30 days of hire.
Must successfully complete Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I and Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within 12 months.
Must obtain the required entry-level certification within 12 months, or as otherwise required by state regulations.
Additional Requirements
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be willing and able to obtain additional certifications and training up to Level A at this facility.
Must meet and maintain all minimum qualification requirements established by state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
Physical lifting of heavy objects (50-75 pounds)
Climbing and/or descending stairs or ladders working in unsanitary conditions
Working with hazardous chemicals.
Travel: 1 to 2 trips per year for credits to maintain license once license is obtained.
