Job Shift Variable Job Category Facilities

The Wastewater Collector is responsible for the collection and transportation of wastewater from various sources to treatment facilities. This role involves operating collection equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and maintaining accurate records of collection activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate wastewater collection equipment, including trucks and pumps.
  • Collect wastewater from residential, commercial, and industrial sources.
  • Transport collected wastewater to treatment facilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of collection equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of collection activities and equipment maintenance.
  • Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot collection issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective collection operations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of collection procedures and safety protocols.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/

Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in wastewater collection preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in wastewater collection or related field.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of wastewater collection processes and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to operate and maintain collection equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for data management and reporting.
