Amentum delivers programme, engineering and technical support services across complex infrastructure and highly regulated environments, with a strong focus on nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management.
Our teams support clients across Europe through provision of technical expertise, project management and programme support services, working on nuclear, environmental and large-scale infrastructure projects.
We are expanding our capability in Central and Eastern Europe and are seeking Waste Managers / Nuclear & Environmental Waste Specialists to support a range of projects, including nuclear decommissioning programmes and infrastructure projects delivered under PMU and FIDIC-based frameworks.

The role focuses on radioactive, hazardous and industrial waste management within regulated environments, supporting clients in developing and implementing waste strategies, ensuring compliance, and coordinating technical activities across project lifecycles.

o waste management plans and procedures
o compliance and regulatory documentation
o waste inventory records and reporting

  • Contribute to waste tracking and data management, including:

o maintenance and verification of waste inventories

  • Coordinate interfaces with related disciplines, including:

o decommissioning and engineering activities
o environmental and permitting requirements
o health, safety and regulatory compliance

  • Support clients in ensuring compliance with:

o national and European regulations

  • Contribute to project and programme reporting, including:

o KPI tracking and analysis
o identification and management of risks and issues
o input to structured client reporting

  • Operate within a multi-stakeholder environment, supporting coordination between:

o clients and funding institutions
o contractors and suppliers
o multidisciplinary project teams

  • Senior level: typically 12–20 years experience

  • Expert level: 20+ years experience

Responsibilities and scope will be aligned to experience level and project requirements.

  • (municipal waste experience alone is not sufficient)

  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, industrial, infrastructure or environmental projects)

  • Knowledge of:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in client-facing roles

  • English language proficiency (minimum B2 level)

Desirable

  • Experience in radioactive waste management

  • Experience with waste acceptance criteria and disposal pathways
