Erie’s Sustainability Division is seeking a friendly, energetic, and mission‑driven team member who’s passionate about keeping waste out of our landfills. Under the general supervision of the Sustainability Manager, the part‑time Waste Diversion Technician will deliver exceptional customer service to residents visiting the Town of Erie Recycling Center. This role serves as a local expert on recycling guidelines, helping community members understand what can be recycled and connecting them with additional resources when needed.
The Waste Diversion Technician also supports zero‑waste initiatives at Town events, providing hands-on guidance and demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, reuse and recycling, and conserving natural resources. Weekend availability is required, along with occasional weekday and evening shifts for special events.
All staff are expected to adhere to the Town’s mission, vision, and values of TRUE.
Pay will depend on the selected candidate’s qualifications. The budgeted hiring range is between minimum and midpoint. The full salary range is displayed to show the potential for growth for our future hire.
