Warranty Project Manager NGS

The NGS Warranty Project Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end warranty claim process across New Generation Systems (NGS) for the assigned projects and serves as the focal point across the business for all NGS warranty claims against Mitsubishi Power Americas equipment as supplied under the Contract.

This role is expected to bring management experience, a broad range of supplied equipment experience and effective organizational skills to the position as needed to coordinate the review, assessment, commercial response and close-out of Warranty Claims. This includes internal and external communication, ensuring timely resolution, cost recovery, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that Safety protocols, conditions and practices are met in accordance with Business and Local Occupational Health and Safety regulations, safety legislation and Company policies.
  • Develop safety plans with warranty outage manager and LTSA team for a safety-first mindset.
  • Serves as the commercial and management focal point across the business for all NGS Warranty Claims against Mitsubishi Power equipment as supplied under the Contract.
  • Work within established processes and procedures to maintain the highest levels of quality.
  • Interacts professionally with Customers, Co-Workers, Contractors and Suppliers in all situations.
  • Leads the team in commercially dispositioning claims based upon contract terms and conditions and investigative findings.
  • Works with Finance to develop and implement a corporate account for Warranty Management to pool financial resources across Projects, develop historical claim-based resolution data. And forecast future contribution needs based upon experience and approaching new technology changes.
  • Multitasked, analytical approach to problem-solving Warranty Claims with a strong attention to detail.
  • Develops Warranty Claim database to allow tracking and reporting of progress on Warranty Claim reviews, investigations, mitigation efforts and their success in rectifying issues raised via the Warranty Claim process.
  • Travel as needed to gain voice of Customer to establish improvements / lessons learned.
  • Capture return of experience and best practices to further improve future Projects.
  • Manages the Warranty Claim process to achieve the Business / Project goals and objectives including the coordination / execution of Engineering, Supply Chain and installation and testing including those equipment’s supplied by MHI Stakeholders.
  • Prepare consolidated monthly warranty reports and contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews in line with business needs.
  • Participates in Project Risk and Opportunity reviews.
  • Ensures Warranty Claim cost management and recovery is managed in a transparent and timeous manner.

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, Construction Management or related field from four-year college or university; and five (5+) years of related experience or ten (10+) years related experience in an EPC environment and experienced in planning/scheduling of power generation, industrial or EPC projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels. Insightful, able to collaborate with other Business Management team members in developing an implementation strategy for each of the Warranty Claims. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure instructions. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Ability to relate to client's management, senior & top management, and staff. Strong in building relationships with Clients, Suppliers and Contractors. For LATAM / MX Projects to be fluent written and spoken in English & Spanish
    • Expect to perform work away from the home office involving both domestic and international travel for up to 20% of the assigned work year.
    • Maintain a valid passport and driver’s license.
    • This role is based at the Headquarters in Lake Mary, FL expected to be in the office min 3 days / week unless traveling to customer sites. Good commercial knowledge for assessing Business risks and opportunities to undertake commercial negotiations, etc.
