Alamos Gold’s Lynn Lake project is one the highest-grade open pit gold deposits in Canada. The Lynn Lake project is located in northern Manitoba and consists of two primary sites, MacLellan and Gordon, which are just east of the Town of Lynn Lake. We are seeking motivated, organized, and safety‑focused Warehouse/ Yard Labourer Summer Students to join our Lynn Lake Project for the upcoming summer term. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining hands‑on experience in a dynamic mine building environment.

Students will work closely with department leaders and team members to learn day‑to‑day responsibilities, develop valuable professional skills, and contribute to the success of ongoing projects and activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support the warehouse and procurement services team with daily tasks, including:

  • Safely loading and unloading building material, lumber, parts or large items from trucks and trailers, frequently using forklifts.
  • Counting, sorting, and organizing inventory.
  • Keeping storage areas clean, organized, and free of debris (i.e. sweeping, removing packing materials).
  • Using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other lifting equipment to move large items.
  • Assisting team members in finding warehouse items. Assist in loading and unloading materials into vehicles.
  • Assisting with inspections, repairs, and servicing of mobile and fixed equipment as requested.
  • Performing lubrication, cleaning, and basic mechanical tasks.
  • Assisting with parts retrieval, organization, and inventory management.
  • Participating in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and complying with all site safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) like high-visibility vests, safety glasses and steel-toed boots.
  • Accurately completing required documentation such as work logs and checklists.
  • Collaborating with tradespeople, operators, and supervisors to support mine build.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in high school or a post‑secondary program relevant to the listed departments (or a related field)
  • Frequent lifting and moving objects weighing 50 lbs or more
  • Working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold
  • Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced mining environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required
  • Drivers Licence and forklift operator certification preferred

Work Schedule

  • 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off; 11.0 hour shifts
  • All required training and PPE provided
  • Must have own transportation to and from mine or to Winnipeg Airport, MB

The company reserves the right to determine final selection and number of summer students hired. In the event, there are more applicants, than number of positions available, the Company will determine selection, based on previous site experience, good standing with grades and preference for students pursuing or currently enrolled in a course of study that is related to the mining industry.

To be eligible to apply, student must be a minimum of 16 years of age to work on surface.
